Before & After Holly Kitchen in Laguna Beach

This was a fun house for my husband and I to update. When we bought it, it was a chopped up big house that we turned into a 6 bedroom 5 bathroom home. Everything about this place screamed, "Crappy 1990, low budget remodel". These are the before and after shots of our kitchen overhaul.

Before…

The low ceilings, old tile, bamboo flooring and particle board cupboards all had to go!

I had the painters do a quick coat of white so I could get a ‘feel’ for where it was going. At the same time I decided to cover the window to the left and add cabinets there instead.

After…

This kitchen was fabulous. I never had a regret about covering the window but did have regrets about having unhoned marble. Never again! It looked beautiful but very impractical if you actually cook in your kitchen. The 6-foot SubZero was also bigger than we needed. It really did get a lot of attention when guests would come over (weirdly, especially from men) but I would have preferred a smaller fridge and had more storage.
