These areas for eating are no longer only reserved for breakfast or small meals. In the past, these spaces have typically been characterized by having a built-in corner seating area usually in a smaller home to utilize the space. That’s not the case anymore. Now referred to as ‘eating nooks’ the seating is not always built in and sometimes not at all attached to a wall. You can make a comfy dining area with free standing chairs and a couch but it has to be leaning against a wall to be considered a nook. Still a brilliant way to use space and it adds an element of warmth and comfort to a home.
